ReplyDeletegosh....it's so hard to pick just one "most" precious moment...but if I HAD to choose (and seriously, with that blue hippo staring me in the face, I HAVE to choose ;)), it would be the very first time I got to hold my oldest daughter.I had an emergency c-section (general anesthesia), and, even though they gave me some polaroids, I wasn't able to actually see her and hold her until she was a little over a day old (I had some complications, and was pretty out of it with pain and a raging infections and fever...it wasn't until the next day that I had "recovered" enough to be wheeled to the NICU--she was only sent there as a precaution). I cried....she felt so warm, smelled so good, and she was "MINE" (all 8 lb 1oz of her!)! It was honestly surreal...I had only ever held one other baby in my life,so this was such a new sensation. All the birthing classes, all the books that were read (dozens!), and all the advice---NOTHING (and nobody!) can prepare you for what that precious moment feels like to hold your very first child for the very first time :). ReplyDeleteMy most Precious Moment was when my mom gave me my first Precious Moments bible as a kid. I've kept it and will pass it on to my little ones when I have kids someday. For now, if I win, this little hippo will go to my sister. She is pregnant with her second child!
